Civil Standard Snapback - California Roundel

The original Bear Flag had a brief career, from about June 14 until July 9, 1846 when it was replaced with the Stars and Stripes. The star was taken from the California Lone Star flag and the bear was meant as a symbol of strength and unyielding resistance. The bear on early bear flags more closely resembles the more common American black bear than the grizzly seen on today’s flag.  This edited roundel features the star and bear.
